Shawna This week our Horse of the Week is an eight year old Paint mare, Miss Satisfaxion (Shawna). Shawna has been in Gail Stover's life for five years. It became evident very early on that Shawna was the dominant mare in all herd configurations at Gail's Stonehedge Farm in Orillia. Shawna asserts herself in subtle but firm ways and all herd mates understand that she is alpha mare. Shawna has shown in Halter classes at Rambling Hills, Orillia Fall Fairs and North River Riders Horse Club shows and has always done very well. Gail has many groomed trails on her property so Shawna has become more accustomed to the sudden appearance of turkeys, deer, porcupine and grouse in the bush. Stall cleaners always enjoy mucking out her stall as she is, without exception, the cleanest horse in the barn. Her career in under saddle classes will increase as Gail has just sold her to a young, experienced rider in Bowmanville. This photo shoot was a very emotional experience for Gail as Shawna was moving to her new owner three days after this photo was taken. Congratulations to Miss Satisfaxion for being our Horse of the Week and enjoy your new home! Horse of the Week changes sometime Sunday Evening |
