Chicago K

This week we would like to present Chicago K, a registered Canadian Sport Horse mare. "Roxie" is 3 years old and 16.2 hh (and still growing) and is owned by Erin Amos on a small farm just outside of Coldwater, Ontario. Her owner hopes to make her a great hunter one day and maybe a jumper later in life. This beautiful bay mare loves peppermints and her big brother Ashton. She dislikes strange horses that come too close to her in under saddle classes and cows, she hates COWS!

Roxie had the opportunity to grow-up with her big brother Ashton and the two horses are quite the pair. They have had all their firsts together; first trailer ride, leaving home to be trained, and first horse shows! Roxie has a very famous daddy, Popeye K, who was named Hunter Horse of the Year in the USA in 2005. Erin has also owned Roxie's Mom since the mare was 5, and the two showed in the adult hunter together. Some day Erin hopes to do the same with her daughter, Roxie.

Erin and her family were very proud of Roxie this past fall as she and her owner qualified for The Lieutenant Governor's Cup at the Royal Winter Fair where they had the opportunity to compete against 30 of the top 3 year old Canadian bred horses. Although Roxie did not pin in the top 10, it was still an honour to have qualified.
