Lucas Lucas is a 17 hh Chestnut Thoroughbred gelding owned by Cheryl and boarded at Chomar Hill Farm outside Barrie, Ontario, Canada. He was foaled on May 4, 1992 and named Albert's Spirit, after the gentleman who bred him, Albert Norris, from Sport of Kings farms. His Sire was a famous Canadian racehorse, Buckley Boy and his Dam was Good Start. Lucas' grandsire was Le Haar. Lucas was registered with The Jockey Club back in 1993 and he began racing at the Woodbine Racetrack facility in June of 1994. He continued to race until June of 1998. He became my love in early summer 1999 when I spotted him at a boarding facility in Halton Hills. He was on consignment from a Thoroughbred farm who had retired him from racing. Lucas had received some training by former Canadian Show Jumping team member Danny Foster. He is now a pleasure horse, under the English discipline but he does love his 'jumping' as well. Lucas was entered into an 'A' circuit jumper show at Hendervale Farms in the Oakville area back in 2002 and won his class! Congratulations to Luc for being our October 13th, 2008 Horse of the Week. |
