Horse of the week changes sometime Sunday evenings.

Rose

Rose was born in Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada in March 2000. This daughter of 'Watch Joe Dust' and 'Bailey Cactus Star' spent the first 7 years of her life as a pasture buddy for different horses in the area until summer of 2007. That's when fate brought her name up in a conversation as the perfect horse to provide some companionship to a mare boarded at the Silver Barn Farm. It didn't take long for the little mare to win the heart of everyone at the farm and become an official member of the family.

A lot has happened since then. 'Bailey's Dusty Rose', Rose for short, 'Muskoka Rose' for shows has lost several hundred pounds of unhealthy fat but proudly remains a full figure horse built the way a working QH should be. She is playful, curious and brave and will try anything once. At 14.2 HH, she is the biggest personality on the farm. Rose is as sharp as a whip, is fluent in English, Western and driving and excels at Natural Horsemanship and clicker training.

But most importantly, Rose shines a light in my life even in the darkest moments. She brings a smile to my face every morning and reminds me every day to keep smiling and to look for the silver lining.

I simply couldn't imagine me without her.

Thanks from Pascale .

Congratulations to Rose for being our October 16, 2011 "Horse of the Week".
