Apache Storm

This week we are featuring Nicole's second horse, Apache Storm. His barn mate Irish was our February 18th Horse of the Week.

Nicole says this of her horse:

"Apache is a 15.2 hh Paint x Quarter Horse gelding who is 8 years old. He came to me in November 2007. He is a laid back guy, but can, and will have his spunky days. He has a general characteristic which is curiosity! So far we’ve been getting to know each other and have been working on collection, extension and lateral movements. He really enjoys it too. Apache came all the way to Orillia from Astorville which is 3 ½ hours away near North Bay. We had a dilemma when we arrived at Stone Oaks to pick my beauty up… a lovely flat tire on the truck. Luckily we had a spare, but had to stop in Callandar. We waited for ½ hour while Apache had to stand in the trailer all by himself. When I went to check on him after 10 minutes he was asleep in the trailer. He slept all the way home. When we got home we had to wake him up to get him unloaded. I truly think he is the best horse for trailering.

This year you’ll find us doing the jumper classes at the North River Riders. He’ll also be seen on the eventing scene at local farms. He is a very unique horse and just loves the snow as Leslie and I found out the day of the photo shoot!!"
