More Impressions (Sonny)

This week's Horse of the Week is a 15.2 hh Quarter Horse named More Impressions. Sonny, as he is affectionately known around the barn, is owned by Tracy Howarth of SonOke Farms in Bracebridge, Ontario. This beautiful chestnut gelding likes being inside his stall and will eat just about anything. He dislikes WORK and getting wet in the rain. Sonny's owner bought him as a companion for her other horse, Okie.

Tracey had a bad accident on Sonny and later found out that he had been severely abused, resulting in him mistrusting people. Since the accident, Tracey has been working intensely with him to gain confidence with people and learn that work isn't so scary. Sonny has come a long way from the days of trying to buck off his rider, to being a happy boy who trusts his owner. You can also see Sonny in the Horses section of my website.
