Willow Willow is the second of two horses owned by Pam and Al of Waubaushene, Ontario, Canada - we featured their other horse Gabby 3 weeks ago. Pam wrote the following of her mare. "Willow is a six year old Rocky Mountain mare. As you can see from the photos, she is a very beautiful horse, with a personality that is just as lovely. We were fortunate to have her join our family about 18 months ago. Willow was not broke and was as well coordinated as a gangly kid. Since coming here, she has matured into a lovely personality. Angela James-Schweyer has done an excellent job of training her. We wanted someone who was gentle and firm. Willow responds to this technique very well, although occasionally she is quite stubborn and we need to be firm with her. Like all horses Willow love treats and attention. Grooming and going for a ride are high on her list of neat things to do. She is a very calm horse and rarely spooks at anything. Her idea of a spook is that she raises her head and looks at the scary thing. A really big spook is two steps sideways. She is such a nice girl, we are lucky to have her." Congratulations to Willow for being our November 23, 2009 Horse of the Week! |
